SYMBOLIC MILITARY SERVICE PRACTICE FOR DISABLED CITIZENS
1. The Turkish Armed Forces carried out a symbolic military service practice, on 11 May 2018, for the persons with disabilities who cannot be drafted according to Article 1111 of the Military Law to allow them to perform their military service symbolically, and feel and enjoy the military atmosphere, even for a short time.
2. In this context;
2856 disabled citizens joined the Symbolic Military Service Practice conducted in 64 different centers throughout Türkiye in 2018 and experienced symbolic military service for one day. At the end of the practice, the participants were given “Symbolic Discharge Certificates”.
3. In 2019, the Symbolic Military Practice could not be exercised pursuant to COVID-19 epidemic measures throughout Türkiye.
4. The Symbolic Military Practice will be planned according to the current situation, in 2020, all around Türkiye.
