MİNE VİCTİMS ASSİSTANCE
TURMAC aims to protect communities especially risk groups from mine/ UXO fields in the scope of our national interests.
The Directorate of National Mine Action Center (TURMAC) ensures the coordination of the works carried out within the scope of aid and risk education for mine/ unexploded ordnance (UXO) victims with relevant ministries, institutions and organizations, primarily the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services and the Ministry of Health.
The Mines/ Unexploded Ordnances Victims Assistance Facilities
The aid and support received by the victims of the mine/unexploded ordnance accident are being followed by TURMAC. Statistical information is produced from the data obtained by making attempts to take remedial measures when necessary within the scope of the aid to mine victims.
In accordance with the mine victim information form, the data of victims (primarily name, surname, gender, age, summary of events) is notified to TURMAC by the Ministry of Health, Turkish General Staff, Land Forces Command, Gendarmerie General Command, General Directorate of Security and provincial governorships.
Within the scope of legislation, local and national opportunities for mine victims are identified.
The follow-up of victims’ assistance and support within the scope of legal legislation is carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.
During the mine/ unexploded ordnance activities, if a mine/unexploded victim needs is detected, consultancy is carried out in order to enable the victim to benefit from the aid.
