Albay Mustafa Münip UZSOY 1878 yılında İstanbul’da doğdu. Harp Okulundan 1895 yılında teğmen rütbesiyle mezun oldu. 1897 yılında Bekir Paşa Tugayıyla Osmanlı-Yunan Harbi’ne katıldı. 2 Temmuz 1898’de üsteğmenliğe, 4 Ekim 1905’te yüzbaşılığa, 27 Ocak 1912’de binbaşılığa terfi etti. 1912 yılına kadar ordunun çeşitli kademelerinde görev aldı. 21 Ekim 1912’de Samsun Redif Taburu Komutanlığına atandı ve bu taburla Balkan Savaşı’na katıldı. Müteakiben 8’inci Kolordu Nişancı Alayının Şam’daki 1’inci Taburuna atandı. Mart 1914’te taburuyla Beyrut’a hareket etti ve Beyrut’ta mevki komutanı olarak görev yaptı. 12 Nisan 1914’te 79’uncu Alay komutan muavini, 22 Ağustos 1914’te Kudüs’te 80’inci Alay 2’nci Tabur komutanı olarak atandı. Bu görevindeyken Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na girildi. 25 Haziran 1915’te Çanakkale Cephesi’nde Kerevizdere’de 36’ncı Alay komutanı oldu. 14 Eylül 1915’te yarbaylığa terfi eden UZSOY, daha sonra 140’ıncı Alay komutanı, 25 Haziran 1917’de Ma’an Mıntıka komutanı, daha sonra sırayla 178’inci Alay komutanı, müfreze komutanı, Şam-Havran mevki komutanlıkları, 1918’de 4’üncü Ordu Levazım başkanı, 25 Temmuz 1918’de 53’üncü Tümen komutanı olarak atandı. 17 Mayıs 1919’da 33’üncü Alay komutanı olarak atandı ve Konya’ya gitti. Burada merkez komutanı olarak görev yaptı. 17 Ekim 1919’da İstanbul’a gelerek İstanbul Muhafız Yardımcılığına atandı. 2 Mayıs 1920’de Personel Dairesi emrinde görevlendirildi. 18 Kasım 1920’de Tetkik ve Tazyif-i Zabitan Komisyonuna tayin edildi. 27 Aralık 1920’de Mürettep 1’inci Tümen 1’inci Alay komutanı olarak atandı. 8 Şubat 1921’de İstanbul’dan hareket ederek Ankara’ya geldi ve Millî Mücadele’ye katıldı. 1 Mart 1921’de albaylığa terfi etti. 17 Mart 1921’de 24’üncü Tümen Piyade komutanı, 4 Mayıs 1921’de 61’inci Tümen komutan vekili, 17 Ağustos 1921’de Polatlı Mevki komutanı, 23 Şubat 1922’de Ankara Üstsubay ve Subay Divanıharp başkanı, 12 Eylül 1922’de Manisa Askerlik Dairesi başkanlığı görevlerinde bulundu. 25 Şubat 1931’de emekli oldu. Osmanlı Devleti, Yunanistan ve Alman İmparatorluğu tarafından verilen çeşitli nişan ve madalyalar ile TBMM tarafından verilen İstiklal Madalyası sahibi olan Albay Mustafa Münip UZSOY, 29 Temmuz 1950’de vefat etmiştir.
Colonel Mustafa Münip UZSOY was born in İstanbul in 1878. He graduated from the Military Academy in 1895 with the rank of lieutenant. In 1897, he entered the Ottoman-Greek War with the Bekir Pasha Brigade. He was promoted to first lieutenant on July 2, 1898, to captain on October 4, 1905, and to major on January 27, 1912. He served in various echelons in the army until 1912. He was appointed as the Commander of the Samsun Redif Battalion (Military Reserve) on October 21, 1912 and entered the Balkan War with this battalion. Subsequently, he was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 8th Corps Marksman Regiment in Damascus. He moved to Beirut with his battalion in March 1914 and served as a position commander in Beirut. He was appointed as the deputy commander of the 79th Regiment on April 12, 1914, and commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 80th Regiment in Jerusalem on August 22, 1914. While he was on this duty, the First World War was entered. On June 25, 1915, he became the commander of the 36th Regiment in Kerevizdere on the Çanakkale Front. UZSOY, who was promoted to lieutenant colonel on September 14, 1915, later appointed as the commander of the 140th Regiment, the commander of the Ma'an Military Zone on June 25, 1917, and then the commander of the 178th Regiment, detachment commander, Damascus-Havran position commanders, Quartermaster general of the 4th Army in 1918, commander of the 53rd Division on July 25, 1918. On May 17, 1919, he was appointed as the commander of the 33rd Regiment and went to Konya. He served as the provost marshall here. He came to İstanbul on October 17, 1919 and was appointed as Deputy Guard of İstanbul. He was assigned to the Personnel Department on May 2, 1920. On November 18, 1920, he was appointed to the Investigation and Defamation Officers Commission. On December 27, 1920, he was appointed as the commander of the Dispositional 1st Regiment of the 1st Division. He moved from İstanbul to Ankara on February 8, 1921 and participated in the War of Independence. He was promoted to colonel on March 1, 1921. He served as the Infantry Commander of the 24th Division on March 17, 1921, acting commander of the 61st Division on May 4, 1921, Polatlı Position commander on August 17, 1921, president of the Ankara Senior Officer and Officer Court-Martial on February 23, 1922, head of the Manisa Recruitment Department on September 12, 1922. He retired on February 25, 1931. Colonel Mustafa Münip UZSOY, who was the owner of various decorations and medals given by the Ottoman Empire, Greece and the German Empire, and the Medal of Independence given by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), passed away on July 29, 1950.
