AHMET NURİ ÖZTEKİN

Albay Ahmet Nuri ÖZTEKİN 1876 yılında Bandırma’da doğdu. Harp Okulundan 1900 yılında teğmen, devam ettiği Harp Akademisinden 1902 yılında mümtaz yüzbaşı olarak mezun oldu. 1909 yılına kadar ordunun çeşitli kademelerinde görev aldı. 31 Mayıs 1909’da kıdemli yüzbaşı oldu ve aynı tarihte 3’üncü Ordu 123’üncü Redif Alayı 2’nci Drama Tabur komutanı oldu. Trablusgarp Savaşı’na katıldı. 19 Ekim 1912’de binbaşılığa yükseldi. Balkan Savaşı’na katıldı. Selânik’in düşmesinden sonra İstanbul’a gelirken Yunanlar tarafından esir edildi ve bir yıl esarette kaldı. 24 Aralık 1913’te 4’üncü Kolordu Personel Şube müdür vekilliğine getirildi. 8 Mart 1914’te yarbaylığa terfi etti ve aynı tarihte Harbiye Dairesi Ordu Şubesinde görevlendirildi. Aynı yıl içinde 3’üncü Ordu Karargâhına 3’üncü Şube müdürü olarak atandı. Bu görevindeyken 20 Ocak 1916’da Sarıkamış civarında Ruslara esir düşerek Sibirya’ya gönderildi. 25 Ağustos 1920’de esaretten döndü ve Millî Mücadele’ye katıldı. 7 Ekim 1920’de 3’üncü Kafkas Tümen Komutanlığına atandı. 1 Mart 1921’de albaylığa terfi eden ÖZTEKİN, 7 Ocak 1922’de Yozgat Askerlik Dairesi başkanı, 28 Temmuz 1924’te Tokat Askerlik Dairesi başkanı oldu. 12 Nisan 1928’de kendi isteğiyle emekliye ayrıldı. TBMM tarafından verilen İstiklal Madalyası sahibi olan Albay Ahmet Nuri ÖZTEKİN, 26 Mart 1951’de vefat etmiştir.
Colonel Ahmet Nuri ÖZTEKİN was born in Bandırma in 1876. He graduated from the Military Academy as a lieutenant in 1900, and from the War College, where he attended, as a distinguished captain in 1902. He served in various echelons in the army until 1909. He became a lieutenant commander on May 31, 1909, and on the same date, he became the commander of the 2nd Drama Battalion of the 123rd Redif (Military Reserve) Regiment of the 3rd Army. He participated in the Turco Italian War. He was promoted to major on October 19, 1912. He participated in the Balkan War. While coming to İstanbul after the fall of Thessaloniki, he was captured by the Greeks and remained in captivity for a year. On December 24, 1913, he was appointed as the deputy director of the 4th Corps Personnel Branch. He was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 8, 1914 and was assigned to the Army Branch of the War Department on the same date. In the same year, he was appointed as the 3rd Branch manager to the 3rd Army Headquarters. While he was on this duty, he was captured by the Russians around Sarıkamış on January 20, 1916 and sent to Siberia. He returned from captivity on August 25, 1920 and participated in the War of Independence. He was appointed as the 3rd Caucasian Division Commander on October 7, 1920. ÖZTEKİN, who was promoted to colonel on March 1, 1921, became the head of the Yozgat Recruitment Department on January 7, 1922, and the head of the Tokat Recruitment Department on July 28, 1924. He retired voluntarily on April 12, 1928. Colonel Ahmet Nuri ÖZTEKİN, who was the owner of the Medal of Independence given by the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), passed away on March 26, 1951.
