AHMET NACİ TINAZ
1882-1964
Korgeneral Ahmet Naci TINAZ 1882 yılında Serfice’de doğdu.
Harp Okulundan 1904 yılında teğmen, devam ettiği Harp Akademisinden 1907 yılında kurmay yüzbaşı olarak mezun oldu. 12 Ekim 1909’da kıdemli yüzbaşılığa terfi etti. 1911 yılına kadar ordunun çeşitli kademelerinde görev aldı. Trablusgarp ve Balkan Savaşlarına katıldı. 10 Ocak 1914’te 5’inci Kolordu 13’üncü Tümen Kurmaylığına atandı. Bu görevinde iken Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na girildi. 27 Haziran 1915’te 17’nci Kolordu 1’inci Şube müdürü, 19 Kasım 1915’te 1’inci Kolordu kurmay başkanı vekili oldu. 14 Haziran 1916’da kurmay binbaşılığa terfi eden TINAZ, 21 Temmuz 1917’de 3’üncü Kolordu 1’inci Şube Müdürlüğüne, 16 Haziran 1918’de 3’üncü Kolordu Kurmay Başkanlığına ve ardından Genelkurmay 2’nci Şube müdür muavinliğine getirildi.
10 Ocak 1921’de Millî Mücadele’ye katılmak üzere İnebolu’ya çıktı. 27 Ocak 1921’de Batı Cephesi Komutanlığı kurmay başkanı oldu. 1 Mart 1921’de kurmay yarbay olan TINAZ, 15 Eylül 1921’de 15’inci Tümen komutanı olarak atandı.
31 Ağustos 1922’de albaylığa terfi etti. 1 Aralık 1924’te 6’ncı Kolordu komutanı
(10 Şubat 1927’ye kadar vekâleten) ve ek görevle Sivas valisi olarak görev yaptı.
30 Ağustos 1926’da tümgeneral olan TINAZ, 12 Ekim 1927’de MSB müsteşarı, 19 Ocak 1928’de MSB Kara müsteşarı, 9 Mayıs 1929’da MSB başmüsteşarı oldu. 30 Ağustos 1930’da korgeneralliğe terfi etti ve müteakiben 8 Eylül 1930’da 4’üncü Kolordu Komutanlığına getirildi. 3 Eylül 1935’te Jandarma genel komutanı olarak atandı. 29 Aralık 1938’de kendi isteğiyle emekliye ayrıldı. Sivil yaşamında, V ve VII. dönemlerde Bursa, VIII. Dönem’de Ankara milletvekili ve bu arada V. Dönem’de Millî Savunma bakanı olarak görev yaptı. Osmanlı Devleti ve Alman İmparatorluğu tarafından verilen çeşitli nişan ve madalyalar ile TBMM tarafından verilen İstiklal Madalyası sahibi olan Korgeneral Ahmet Naci TINAZ 25 Kasım 1964’te vefat etmiştir.
Lieutenant General Ahmet Naci TINAZ was born in Serfice in 1882. He graduated from the Military Academy as a lieutenant in 1904, and from the War College as a staff captain in 1907. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant commander on October 12, 1909. He served in varied positions in the army until 1911. He participated in Turco-Italian and Balkan Wars. He was appointed as the Staff officer of the 13th Division of the 5th Corps on January 10, 1914. While he was on this duty, the First World War was entered. He became the director of the 1st Section of 17th Corps on June 27, 1915, vice chief of staff of the 1st Corps on November 19, 1915. TINAZ promoted to the rank of staff major on June 14, 1916 was assigned as the Director of 1st Section of the 3rd Corps on July 21, 1917, as the Chief of Staff of the 3rd Corps on June 16, 1918 and assistant director of 2nd Section of General Staff. He went to Inebolu to participate in War of Independence on January 10, 1921. He became chief of staff of Western Front Command on January 27, 1921. TINAZ who became staff lieutenant colonel on March 1, 1921 was appointed as the commander of the 15th Division on September 15, 1921. He was promoted to the rank of colonel on August 31, 1922. He served as the commander of 6th Corps (by proxy until 10 February 1927) on December 1, 1924 and as the governor of Sivas with additional duty. TINAZ who became major general on August 30, 1926 served as undersecretary of Minister of National Defence on October 12, 1927; as undersecretary of the Army of Minister of National Defence on January 19, 1928; as the chief undersecretary of Minister of National Defence on May 9, 1929. He was promoted to rank of lieutenant general on August 30, 1930 and then was assigned as the Commander of the 4th Corps on September 8, 1930. He was appointed as the Commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie Forces on September 3, 1935. He was retired at his own request on December 29, 1938. In his civilian life, he served as deputy for Bursa for the terms of 5th and 7th, for Ankara for 8th Term and the minister of National Defence for the 5th Term. Lieutenant General Ahmet Naci TINAZ who had various decorations and medals decorated by the Ottoman Empire and German Empire as well as the Independence Medal decorated by Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), passed away on November 25, 1964.
